Graines d'Etoile, Perry Blake (feat. Emile Simon)

Perry Blake was one of my youth favourite singers, dark, frail and moody. When I came across with the livelier a-la Divine Comedy album California, I was surprised but the songs grew in me little by little and the last one with the mellow voice of Emile Simon drove me back to my youth.

Live in San Antón Part 5, Scratoa!

Marc Nguyen (from Colder) and Guillaume Ollendorff (The Mainstream ensembles) joined efforts in Alicante for this sort of concrete music experimentation. As they say in their bio: "Experiencing Scratoa! will probably not cure any disease nor it will help you improve some social skills either. But listening to this first session may however be recommended for all these tiny moments of your life when all you fancy is just a good old fix of primitive poetry."
So let's enjoy this "fix of primitive poetry."

Wrong Baby, Colder

Stating the obvious: Joy Division's legacy was never so well reproduced

Thursday, 16 April 2015

Renaissance! San Fermin

Full hints of Bill Callahan, Madrugada and The National, a good effort for a band who has just released their second album with a great first track and a combination of tunes unable to reach it. A pity.

Demons, The National

While we eagerly await for their new album to arrive (will it be soon?), just one of the many great tracks on Trouble will find me.

Svefn-g-englar, Sigur Rós

Out of the amazing tunes they built when they were good (back in the 2000s), it is really hard to pick just one. So this one features here, but it could have easily been any other one.

Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Locked somewhere in the middle of Russia, one of the strangest, yet übercool, party takes place with Nick Cave as the chair of the event, and renowned guests like Jarvis Cocker or Jason Donovan dancing feverishly to the rhythm of this ecstatic song. Great video for a greater song.
